Project: Clarke County Water Supply
​​

Working with the Clarke County Reservoir Commission to build and 816 acre reservoir 4 miles northwest of Osceola to creat a 2.2 million gallons/day water supply for Osceola, Clarke County, and the Southern Iowa Water Associationa (SIRWA). About 2037 acres of land will be purchased for the reservoir and surrounding buffer area.  The buffer area is required for dam safety and water quality purposes. This project is critical in helping Southern Iowa communities improve their water security. Land acquisition has begun, as well as advanced engineering design activities. Construction is planned to begin in late 2018.

Project: Southern Iowa Regional Foods System

Working with producers, institutions, and local businesses to more fully develop the local production and use of locally grown foods. We are currently emphasizing connecting producers with users such as restaurants, schools, and hospitals and helping them meet their needs.

South Central Iowa Area Partnership

Project: University of Iowa Office of Outreach & Engagement

An exciting new project just getting underway, we will work with faculty, staff, and students to bring services and technical assistance from the University to our region. Preliminary plans are under development to bring performing artists to our local communities through this project. Other activities may include enhancing health and well ness education to targeted populations and organizational leadership training and developement.

Project: Learning Center of Southwest Iowa

Is to provide students who learn differently with the supplemental, evidenced-based intervention, and support needed to achieve academic success.

Our vision is these children, their families, and the schools that educate them will have access to the research-based services and training needed to reach their potential in becoming successful life-long learners.

Project: SIRC&D Revolving Loan Program
​

The Southern Iowa Resource Conservation and Development Area (SIRC&D) has money available through a revolving loan program, for the financing of starting or expanding small businesses. The purpose of this program is to create private sector jobs.
